Biography
Nelson is a Climate Governance Specialist, with expertise in climate finance, carbon markets, REDD+, and environmental governance. He has over eight years of experience in Uganda’s environment and climate sectors.
Currently, he is PhD candidate at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and holds an MSc in Forestry and Biodiversity Management and a BSc in Conservation Forestry and Production Technology from Makerere University.
He is a fellow with Africa Research and Impact Network. His research focuses on locally led adaption, political economy of climate finance, vertical planning coherence in climate action, NDC design and financing, Indigenous and local knowledge-based adaption, and nature-based climate action. He has worked with Uganda’s Ministry of Water and Environment and the UNFCCC Secretariat.
